FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS [and Answers]

1.  What is a Revolution ?

A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turn around") is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time.  A revolution is also a drastic and far-reaching change in ways of thinking and behaving; "the industrial revolution was also a cultural revolution"  NOTICE: There is NO mention of the word "violent" in this widely accepted definition. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolution)

2. What is a political revolution ?

A political revolution, in the Trotskyist theory, is an upheaval in which the government is replaced, or the form of government altered, but in which property relations are predominantly left intact. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_revolution)

Other definitions: An extreme change of political systems or rulers; or a change in the way something is done within a political system.

3. Is the Kenya revolution violent or peaceful ?

Kenya's ongoing Revolution that started in 2008 is peaceful. A nonviolent revolution is a revolution using nonviolent protest against governments seen as entrenched and authoritarian to advocate democracy or national independence in their nation.

4. What is the objective of Kenya Revolution under the auspices of DMK ?

1. To CHALLENGE poor governance in Kenya

2. To demand the REMOVAL of the current leadership and replace it with viable leaders who do not place their interests first.

3. To CHANGE the current system of corrupt practices and replace it with a new totally accountable system, void of theft, corruption, lawlessness and greed.

4. To DEVELOP a system that guarantees focus on the rule of law, social equality, economic steadfastness and political maturity.

5. To enforce DMK’s CLEAR AGENDA for the NEW DEVELOPED KENYA that places emphasis on the INDUSTRIALIZATION OF KENYA that will in-turn:

-- increase employment opportunities

-- reduce poverty

-- attract genuine foreign investment

-- create an environment that will foster a Scientific, Industrial, Agricultural and an Information Technology Revolution so that Kenya can join the league of developed countries within 30 years.

-- Build institutions rather focus on personalities.

5. How does DMK intend to achieve these objectives ?

1. THOROUGHLY VET and grill the would be leaders of Kenya - Bio, history, from birth, demeanor in formative years, demeanor now, family, etc.

2. ENSURE that incoming leaders will respect the CONSTITUTION. e.g. Respect property rights, are accountable and transparent.

3. Rely on a GOVERNING COUNCIL to interview potential leaders to determine their a) True Agenda. b) Proven abilities  c) Education

4. OUTLAW ENTITLEMENT POLITICS  that rely on a) Wealth b) Political Influence and c) Family Ties; to become leaders.

5. Use CONTINUING EDUCATION as a tool to ensure leaders are always cognizant of their role and responsibilities while servants of the people.

6. ENFORCE THE RULE OF LAW. NO EXCEPTIONS.

6. Why a Revolution?

Kenyans have tried change several times and it has either led to death (1991 - 800 dead, 2008 - 1,500 dead & 800,000 displaced) or a raw deal - lame duck or corrupt institutions (1963 to present !) coupled with the Recycling of the same corrupt leadership.

It's time for a TOTAL OVERHAUL !

6. How far may the period 1963 - 2010 be regarded as the "wasted years" for Kenya ?

a) The period from 1963 to 2010 are largely wasted years because despite political pluralism, as practiced in Kenya, there appears to have been little fundamental change in the lives of most people, especially those who reside in the rural areas.

b) In the same period (1972 to 2010), Politicians in Kenya decided to focus on personal enrichment rather Kenya's scientific and industrial development. Public funds meant for development were consistently funneled into foreign banks and billions were transferred via dubious contracts and stashed away in hidden accounts all over the world.  The likes of the Goldenberg Scandal, Anglo-Leasing were vehicles for grand theft. To add insult to injury, NO ONE has ever been prosecuted & jailed in these grand theft schemes since 1963 !

c) While political expression has been relatively free from the constraints of the past and the authoritarianism that characterized Moi's rule between 1982 and 1989 has been substantially reduced, human rights abuses continue in their broadest manifestation. Such abuses are prevalent in the economic and political realms.

d) Both the opposition and the global community are just as guilty as the Kenyan state for allowing such oppression to continue to exist in modern Kenya. That is why DMK contends that the often eulogized transition to democracy actually never occurred. A transition must entail a fundamental and perceptible change in the lives of the people.

e) Vital reforms have never been implemented. Examples include: the constitution – debated for 10 years; Police Reforms, Judiciary Reforms, Rule of Law, Arrest, Prosecution and Jail of those responsible for numerous scandals in government; Arrest, Prosecution and Jail of those responsible for the killings of Kenyans.

f) The  Kenyan tax-payer continues to pay taxes but never really sees the benefits and services that should accrue them. Instead Kenyans get a strained economy; which has fueled the discontent of the people.

7. What role are you expected to play in the Kenya Revolution?

The Kenyan is his/her own worst enemy. If we sit on the sidelines and expect Annan or Ocampo to fix Kenya, we are dreaming. Foreigners are just that – foreigners, or “Aliens” as they are sometimes referred to.  WE ! are the only one who will get the job done. YOU ! are the Revolution ! When the D-day arrives, Just Say No More ! Today is your last day in office. Your time is up ! For now, spread the good news that Real Change is coming to Kenya and that those crooked leaders can no longer MANIPULATE our people for their own ends. We will see the promised land – with or without them.
